From 03 to 05 October the JALLC’s Advisory and Training Team (JATT) provided Lessons Learned (LL) training and a Key Leadership Engagement briefing at Joint Force Command Naples (JFCNP) in Italy.
The LL training was attended by LL Points of Contact (POCs) and Staff Officers. The material covered relevant topics for the JFCNP LL staff such as an overview of the NATO LL Capability and Process and a briefing on the NATO LL Portal (NLLP). The training also included information on NATO LL Communities of Interest, Active NLLP Content Management, and how to capture Observations in the field and process them in the NLLP. The lectures were accompanied with practical syndicate work, which provided course participants to put their newly-won knowledge the test.
The JATT also provided a Key Leader Engagement briefing to JFCNP’s Deputy Commander as well as the Deputy and Assistant Chiefs of Staff. This type of briefing is specifically tailored to meet the high-level needs of NATO leaders in understanding the relevance of the NATO LL capability to their HQ and how LL benefits the Alliance as a whole.
On the final day of the visit, the JATT spent time with the JFCNP LL staff reviewing the HQ's LL Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other LL documents. The JATT were able to provide advice and highlight areas where performance can be improved. This is another important area of work for the JATT that contributes to ensuring that the NATO LL Capability is optimally implemented and sustained throughout the NATO Command Structure.
JFCNP ACOS J7, Commodore Apostolos Trivlidis, as the host of the event, noted the significance and timeliness of the LL training provided, as it offered an invaluable opportunity to enhance the ongoing exercise NOBLE JUMP 23 with a solid LL foundation.
This event stands as an example of NATO's commitment to fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement, further enhancing its ability to respond effectively to evolving challenges and missions.
