In January 2020, the JALLC, in close coordination with representatives of the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC) and the NATO Military Committee Land Standardization Board (MCLSB), established a new Comunity of Interest (CoI) in the NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP). This CoI is built upon the results of three multinational logistics exercises—the CAPABLE LOGISTICIAN (CL) exercises—from 2013, 2015, and 2019.
The CL exercises are designed to exercise multinational logistics and enhance interoperability among nations. At each of the three exercises, the JALLC has supported the MCLSB and national functional area experts in identifying lessons related to standards and interoperability. This work has resulted in over 50 different observations at each exercise, across logistics functional areas, and even more recommendations. In fact, over 90% of the recommendations from the CL15 report were endorsed by the Nations through the Military Committee, resulting in direct input and improvements to NATO military doctrine, tactics, and procedures at the heart of NATO standardization and interoperability. For more information, see the CAPABLE LOGISTICIAN factsheet.
Recognizing the need to make this information as accessible as possible to stakeholders in the logistics community, the Logistics LL CoI was established and can be used as a starting point upon which to build a more robust community where experts can share knowledge and expertise.
Currently, the CoI is administered by JALLC staff, but in the long term, the JALLC is seeking a permanent sponsor within the NATO community. If your organization has an interest in becoming the sponsor for this CoI, please contact the JALLC at [email protected].
