On 11 February 2016 a delegation of the internationally recognized, London-based think tank Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI) visited the JALLC. RUSI researchers Professor John Louth (Director, Defence, Industries and Society Programme), Professor Trevor Taylor (Professorial Research Fellow, Defence, Industries and Society Programme), and Ms Gabriela Thompson (Researcher, Defence, Industries and Society Programme) were welcomed by the JALLC's Commander Brigadier General Mircea Mîndrescu (Romanian Army).
The purpose of the visit was to explore a future relationship between the JALLC and RUSI to the benefit of both organizations and NATO in general. Reflecting on the thoughtful discussion during the visit, BG Mîndrescu pointed out
“Both the JALLC and RUSI are important contributors to the defence discourse within NATO and beyond. It is therefore my firm belief that an advanced relationship will be of great benefit to the two organizations, their staff and NATO in general.”
RUSI's Professor Louth echoed BG Mîndrescu’s words stressing that, “RUSI is looking forward to develop a relationship with the JALLC over the next couple of months and to engage in a constant exchange of thoughts.”
