On 22 March 2011, the Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre (JALLC) in Monsanto, Portugal was visited by the Ambassador of Hungary to Portugal, his Excellency Mr. Norbert Konkoly. During the first half of 2011, Hungary holds the EU Presidency and with this in view, the Ambassador visited the JALLC in order to become familiar with its activities and organization.

The Ambassador received a warm welcome by the JALLC Commander, Brigadier General Peter Sonneby. After a courtesy call with the Commander and JALLC’s Chief of Staff, he was briefed on where the JALLC fits within NATO’s military structure, and on the role, capabilities and current activities of the Centre. Of special interest to Mr. Konkoly were the accessibility to the NATO Lessons Learned Databases and how the JALLC supports the Nations in building a Lessons Learned capability. He expressed his appreciation for the assistance given by the JALLC Advisory and Training Team to the Hungarian Lessons Learned organizations by advising the Hungarian staff on Lessons Learned procedures and processes and providing beneficial analyses training support. He concluded his visit by signing the JALLC Book of Honour.
