NATO cooperates with a range of international organizations and countries in different structures. These include, for example, the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, the NATO Mediterranean Dialogue, and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI). Regarding the ICI, it is a partnership forum that aims to contribute to long-term global and regional security by offering non-NATO countries in the broader Middle East region the opportunity to cooperate with NATO. Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates currently participate in the Initiative.
The JALLC contributes to NATO’s partnerships in various ways, including maintaining a peacetime establishment post filled by a partnership country, providing Lessons Learned training and outreach support, and by hosting visits by delegations to provide more information on NATO’s Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Activities. In this light, a delegation by the Qatari Joint Warfare Training Centre (JWTC QTR) was welcomed to the JALLC on 02 December 2021. The main objective of the trip was for the Qatari delegation to gain situational awareness on the JALLC, its outputs and the way they integrate with the Alliance’s objectives.
In order to do so, Brigadier General Ali Abdulaziz Al-Mohannadi, the Qatari Military Representative to NATO, accompanied by Colonel Ramzan Hamad Al-Naimi, head of the JWTC QTR, exchanged views with the JALLC’s Commander, Brigadier General Bogdan Cernat, and Chief of Staff, Colonel Manuel Rosa during an office call.
The office call was followed by a briefing of the JALLC’s activities to the members of the delegation, with particular attention given to Lessons information sharing and future cooperation.
