About the Day

03 October is a public holiday in Germany which celebrates the Day of German Unity under the 1990 Unification Treaty. As a German national holiday, it commemorates German reunification, which was “completed” with the entry into force of the German Democratic Republic’s accession to the Federal Republic of Germany on 03 October 1990.

What do you miss most about home?

When we came to Portugal we left our family and friends behind. We miss them a lot of course.

What do you find rewarding about working in a multinational environment like JALLC?

For me the biggest reward is not just about working in a multinational environment but also about the multicultural aspects. It is extremely interesting how people from another cultural background think and solve problems. I can learn a lot from them!

What is something unique in Portugal that others may not know?

That might be the weather in the wintertime – all of my friends tell me they want to come over to have a warm winter. They would be surprised if they tried……

HistoriaReunificacaoAlemanha_Comemoracao03Outubro90.jpgHow do you usually celebrate this national day (in Portugal or in your country)?

Public holidays in Germany are dedicated to the family. For me mostly it will be a nice day somewhere hiking or going to a restaurant with friends.
