The NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP) is NATO’s centralized hub for all NATO Lessons Learned information. Observations, Lessons, and Lessons Learned-related documents can be submitted to the NLLP from all over NATO and Partner Nations. The NLLP ensures that this valuable information finds its way through the NATO Lessons Learned Process, which is how NATO learns and transforms as an organization.

From 16 to 18 May, the JALLC held its annual iteration of the Local NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP) Manager Course at the NCI Academy facilities in Oeiras, Portugal. Course participants were Lessons Learned Staff Officers or Local NLLP Managers from different HQs of the NATO Command Structure, NATO Force Structure, Centres of Excellences, and NCI Agency.

The aim of this course was to develop participants’ proficiency in NLLP administration and involved hands-on training using the unclassified version of the NLLP.  The JALLC instructors provided participants with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and technical skills necessary to efficiently and effectively fulfil their roles. The training was particularly focused on the practical use of the NLLP in order to facilitate the NATO Lessons Learned Process in their organizations across the Alliance, ultimately improving NATO’s overall Lessons Learned Capability.
