The JALLC held the first iteration of the new Local NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP) Manager Course at the NATO Communications & Information Academy (NCIA) facilities in Oeiras, Portugal from 25 to 27 May. The aim of this new course is to provide NATO personnel assigned as Local NLLP Managers with the required knowledge and skills to effectively support the execution of the NATO Lessons Learned Process through the NLLP.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, this iteration of the course was limited to a total of 11 participants who are Lessons Learned Staff Officers or Local NLLP Managers from different HQs of the NATO Command Structure and the NATO Force Structure.

The training was particularly focused on using the new NLLP that was launched in December last year and has been updated to improve user-friendliness, accessibility, and efficacy. This improved and updated NLLP will help Local NLLP Managers facilitate the NATO Lessons Learned Process in their organizations across the Alliance, ultimately improving
NATO’s overall Lessons Learned Capability.

The JALLC has also planned one more iteration of this course for second half of this year (16-18 November).
