On 12 March 2015, the JALLC was honoured to host His Excellency the Portuguese Minister of Defence (MoD), José Pedro Aguiar-Branco.

After a courtesy call with Commander JALLC, Brigadier General Mircea Mîndrescu ROU Army, the Portuguese Minister of Defence and his party were given a briefing focusing on the JALLC mission, tasks and current activities, including ongoing projects, support to exercises and JALLC outreach. At the end of the brief, Commander JALLC took the opportunity to thank His Excellency for the outstanding support given by Portugal to JALLC.

His Excellency signed the Book of Honour and exchanged official gifts with Commander JALLC before addressing the JALLC staff. In his speech to the staff, the Minister of Defence stressed the importance of the JALLC's work to the Alliance, the significance of Portugal hosting a NATO Command Structure entity, and finished his speech wishing all success for the JALLC and its staff.
