A Proactive Shift in NATO’s Strategy

The LTMSS initiative marks a fundamental shift in NATO’s strategic mindset, moving from a reactive posture to a proactive approach. The goal is to build long-term military advantage and shape the strategic environment to ensure the Alliance’s continued security and strength in a rapidly evolving world.

This initiative is the practical implementation of the NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept (NWCC), which serves as the North Star vision for the development of NATO’s Military Instrument of Power over the next 20 years.

The JALLC’s Contribution

As NATO’s lead agent for Lessons Learned, the JALLC briefed the participants on the latest innovations in Lessons Learned, including how the JALLC is developing and using AI to enhance Lessons Learned analysis and reporting, presenting some of the JALLC's recent work that has used AI in this context.

By hosting this Working Group, the JALLC reinforces its commitment not only to analysing the past but to actively shaping the military advantage of the Alliance for decades to come.
