From 05 to 07 November, the JALLC participated in the annual NATO Lessons Learned Fall Week. The Lessons Learned weeks take place twice a year; once in the Spring and once in the Fall. This year’s Fall event was conducted via VTC, hosted jointly by Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT), and served as a critical forum for discussing strategic topics, including the JALLC’s Programme of Work for 2025.
The event addressed several key areas, including, an update on the NATO Lessons Learned Capability Improvement Roadmap for 2021–2025, and a proposal for the revised Lessons Learned Battle Rhythm for 2025/2026. One of the significant outcomes of the discussions was the approval of the JALLC Programme of Work for 2025, ensuring alignment with NATO’s strategic objectives and operational needs.
Participants also explored challenges and opportunities to improve the collection, delivery, and exploitation of Lessons Learned across NATO. Emphasis was placed on how these processes could be reinvigorated to better serve NATO’s mission and adapt to emerging challenges in a rapidly evolving security landscape.
JALLC remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing NATO’s Lessons Learned framework, and ensuring that the Alliance continues to learn, adapt, and succeed in its missions.
