Commander JALLC, Brigadier-General Mîndrescu, and Division Head P&P, Col San Antonio, have participated in the 1st Regional Conference for Military Lessons Learned Centers held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, from 15 to 17 April 2014. The Conference has been organized by the Jordan Armed Forces-Center of Studies and Lessons Learned ( JCSLL) and U.S. Center for Army Lessons Learned ( CALL).
This conference seeks to provide a platform and bring together prominent experts, specialists, directors, consultants and researchers in the field of lessons learned centers ( LLC) that focus on improving the performance of the armed forces at the strategic, operational and tactical levels. The objectives were namely:
- Highlighting the pivotal role of lesson learned centers in the armed forces.
- Developing the prospects for international and regional cooperation, exchanging of experiences and success stories.
- Listening to the experiences of countries that have the lead in this field.
- Providing assistance and counsel for countries wishing to establish a similar lessons learned center.
- Establishing a regional network of lessons learned centers in cooperation with the partaking countries and experts in the field.
The Nations & Entities that have participated in this LLC were: Jordan Armed Forces Centre of Studies and Lessons Learned ( JCSLL); Jordan Armed Forces; Saudi Arabia; Kuwait; Algeria; Qatar; US Center for Army Lessons Learned ( CALL); US JCOA; GBR Joint Forces Command; New Zealand Adaptive Warfighting Centre; NATO’s Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre ( JALLC).
One of the topics in the agenda was “Establishing a lessons learned capability” in which the JALLC took the lead, describing the NATO LL capability.
